Kirill Khomutov captured the interim Rajadamnern Stadium welterweight championship with a fifth-round technical knockout victory over Uganda's Award Kazimba at RWS Knocktoberfest on October 10, 2026. The title fight took place at Bangkok's historic Rajadamnern Stadium and ended at 2:29 of the final round.

Khomutov started aggressively, pushing forward with powerful punches and repeatedly forcing Kazimba into close-range exchanges. The Russian fighter established an early advantage, but Kazimba proved a difficult opponent, responding with sharp elbows, punches and kicks. In the second round, the Ugandan fighter opened cuts on Khomutov's face, making the contest increasingly demanding for both men.

Despite the damage, Khomutov continued applying pressure. His boxing combinations and physical strength in the clinch helped him regain control, while Kazimba refused to back down and kept looking for opportunities to land elbows. The exchanges remained competitive, but Khomutov's cleaner punches and sustained offense gradually gave him the upper hand.

In the fifth round, Khomutov increased his attacking pace and trapped Kazimba against the ropes. He unleashed a series of heavy punches, repeatedly forcing his opponent backward. After another powerful combination and a clean left hook, the referee stepped in and stopped the contest, awarding Khomutov the TKO victory. The win earned Khomutov the interim Rajadamnern Stadium welterweight title at 147 pounds (66.7 kg). According to Thai media reports, he also received a double knockout bonus totaling 700,000 Thai baht.

For Khomutov, the victory marks an important milestone in his Muay Thai career. Winning a championship at Rajadamnern Stadium, one of Thailand's most historic fighting venues, adds a significant achievement to his record and strengthens his position in the welterweight division.
