Can a video game capture the decisions that shape a Muay Thai fight? Bangkok-based studio SQUADX is working on that challenge with MUAY THAI XTREME (MTX), a fighting game published by Rising Tide and built around Muay Thai.
The developers plan to make distance, timing, and ring pressure part of the experience. According to the game’s Steam page, MTX will include ranked online matches, casual bouts with friends, and private lobbies. Players will also be able to customize their fighters and choose from tactical styles inspired by Muay Thai techniques. The arenas are designed to evoke gyms and stadiums.
The game is still in development, but its creators are preparing to show it in competition. The next online round of the STRYK creator tournament is scheduled for October 24, 2026. Finalists are set to compete on October 31 at gamescom asia × Thailand Game Show in Bangkok for a $5,000 prize pool.
Visitors to the event are also expected to find playable stations from October 30 through November 1. That will offer a closer look at how MTX handles exchanges in the ring. A trailer can show the strikes; playing the game will reveal whether reading an opponent and choosing the right moment feel just as important.
Steam currently lists MUAY THAI XTREME as “Coming soon.” Until more people have had a chance to play it, the developers’ plans and the STRYK matches give Muay Thai fans something to follow. What would you test first: distance, timing, or the clinch?
